2 Check operation and top up windscreen washers

 

3 Check horn

 

4 Check seatbelts

 

5 Check ABS warning light for correct operation

 

6 Check heater plug indicator (diesels)

 

7 Check for correct clutch operation

 

8 Check operation of exterior lights

 

9 Check windscreen wipers

 

10 Check and top up brake and clutch fluid

 

11 Top up battery and check security

 

12 Check/Top up power steering reservoir (where applicable)

 

13 Check coolant/antifreeze strength and top up

 

14 Check condition of auxiliary belt and re-tension if applicable

 

15 Replace oil filter

 

16 Drain and refill oil (special or synthetic oil subject to additional charge)

 

17 Check for and report general oil leaks

 

18 Check wheel bearings for play and noise

 

19 Check steering and suspension components

 

20 Check steering rack gaiters if applicable

 

21 Check shock absorbers for leaks and operation

 

22 Check brake pads for wear or damage

 

23 Inspect wheel cylinders for leaks and operation

 

24 Visually check all hydraulic system pipes/hoses for leaks/chafing/corrosion

 

25 Check security of handbrake linkages lubricate where necessary

 

26 Adjust handbrake if required

 

27 Check propshaft /driveshaft and joints

 

28 Check driveshaft gaiters for security and leaks

 

29 Inspect exhaust system for security and leaks

 

30 Check tyre condition, pressure tread depth and record readings (inc spare)

 

31 Set wheel nut torque to manufacturers settings

 

32 Reset vehicle service light where applicable

 

33 Carry out battery test

 

34 Check condition of all fuel lines

 

35 Check timing/cam belt replacement intervals and advise customer
